The Buckboard Grill

we visited a local eatery in Murphy, Oregon. The BuckBoard Grill.

If you drive by, don't let the exterior fool you with it's 70's cold look outside because once you enter you will find yourself sorrounded by warmth and atmosphere, complete with peanut shells on the floor and beautiful wood paneled walls. Very warm and cozy with lots of nooks to enjoy your meal within.

Our waiter, Rick, quickly put us at ease with a warm smile and most pleasant demeanor as he visited with us both when we ordered as well as during our meal.

We began our meal with a glass of wine. I chose a Chardonay and my significant other chose a Merlot. Both wines were local, from the Woodridge Creek Winery and both were delectable with full body, and rich in flavor. The Merlot finished with an oakey flavor and the Chardonay with a fine peppery flavor. I highly suggest either one.

Our meal was a simple dish of liver and onions with a wonderful smokey flavored bacon as a compliment, home style mashed potatoes with a hint of Rosemary, and sauteed fresh local zuchinni, carrots and onions. The liver was done to perfection with a crispy coating which kept the liver moist and delicious within. Very tender and flavorful. We both enjoyed our dinners and highly recommend the dish to anyone with a taste for such a difficult organ meat to prepare correctly. The proportions of the meal were large enough to quench the appetite of the heartiest, with prices which were very reasonable.

Owner, Rod Barth opened the eatery 2 1/2 years ago and has dedicated himself to keeping the prices down and the proportions generous, and in our opinion, he has done just that.

Anyone within driving distance of the BuckBoard Grill owe it to themselves to visit this establishment and enjoy any one of the fine meals or specials offered. You are sure to enjoy the fine food served everyday. Or perhaps treat your self on a Friday or Saturday evening of fine wine, great food and entertainment with live music, or the Sunday brunch which runs till 3:00 PM. Or, maybe you have a special event coming up for which you may need a Caterer, for these services are also offered.
